organissimo performs its tune "Greaze Monkey" (from the album "This Is The Place") at the Muskegon Summer Celebration on July 9, 2006 as the opening act for TRAIN.
Organist Jim Alfredson is using the new Hammond XK System along with a Yamah Motif ES Rack. Jim only had the system for about a week before this gig and now travels with the organ exclusively. His 1958 Hammond B3, which is in the other videos on this site, has been retired to the studio. organi

I am using the Hammond XK System. I have a Yamaha Motif rack midi'd to the organ. The patch is an electric piano (Rhodes) emulation. I hauled a real B3 around for almost 10 years. The XK sounds fantastic and is a blessing for me.

The volume of the organ doesn't change. I am still playing pedals and the lower manual while using the Motif via MIDI. You can layer both the organ and the rack module together.

Hello:
Please i need help about this organ, i have a XK-3 Hammond,I put Midi out from Organ to Midi In to the module ( Ropland jv-1080)or Keabord motif es 7, But not response the sensibility or touch.
All note play wihout touch. What is the problem ?
I put all the posibility from Midi Zones from the organ. but not response. Thans you and Congratulattiosn your sound is GOOOOOOD!!

You have to turn on velocity sensitivity for the zone you are using. It is described in the manual. I can't recall off the top of my head how to do it, but it is one of the options and there are four velocity curves to choose from.
You must have your module set to a different MIDI channel than the organ as well.

what's the difference between the Electric Piano (Rhodes) and a Drawbar Organ? I think they kind of sound alike, if not similar:)

Rhodes piano works actually as a normal piano, but instead of wire it has metal rods (which, strucked by an hammer, produce the sound). Old Hammond organs had instead "toneweels" - that is, small iron wheels rotating in front of a pickup. (Look on wikipedia for more informations, thanks ;-). Also, they produce a similar sound because they both generate sinusoidal waves, which causes both instruments to sound somewhat similar...

They're not even close. The Hammond organ can sound like a lot of different things depending on the positions of the drawbars and the other settings. A Rhodes piano cannot sound like an organ. Listen to some other Hammond B3 songs on youtube.
