Bongwater was a college rock band formed by Ann Magnuson and Mark Kramer (boss of the Shimmy Disc record label) in 1985 and dissolved in 1992.This is a video for the song "Psychedelic Sewing Room".

I fasted four days because of no food at SIU. While all the other stoodents were gone during Spring Break. All I drank during the ordeal was a pitcher of ice tea that I made with really nasty bongwater. When the roomates got back two beat me up for ready their dirty magazines and for driving their car.

cant speak highly enough of this.. fantastic band who cleverly incorporated found sounds and social critique into their music. Their influence can be heard now in such acts as the beguiling Tilly and the Wall.

Where to begin? The Brady House, of course. What a cultural icon. Why that isn't the governor's southern California retreat, I'll never know. Those lyrics, voices, and gentle horns combining with that footage - a flawless execution of genius.

Always loved the song and really dig the video, too. The only flaw is the 1980s Taurus Station wagon that appears at 2:20. Other than that, this does a nice job recreated the 60s feel.

I had heard the name Bongwater used in conjunction with a lot of my favourite bands from WAAAAYYY back but until now had never actually heard them. This song has kind of knocked me sideways and I would appreciate it if a genuine any Bongwater fans could point me in the direction of their best work.

Hey, Pooklette, I can point you in the right direction for this short-lived offbeat zany outfit called Bongwater. Check out "Too Much Sleep" a double album (on vinyl anyway), and it has music from every corner of their strange spectrum of music they weave, and if you want to hear something a little more commercially alluring (if Bongwater could be commercial), then check out their 1990ish release of The Power of Pussy, it's genius. They only had 4 or 5 albums total, so get em all. Cheers.
