Man. Methaney surrounds himself with such killer players! He thrives in so many different situations.
I wish that the sound was different for this set - I'd love to hear more of the nuance btwn Blade and McBride's groove. They're really getting it. This is a killer rhythm section. Josh Redman has done some good work over the years, but I'm interested in seeing where his playing has gone today. I'll have to check him out.

Why did Joshua look so irritated when he finished his solo? Like I understand the whole mic thing was irritating, but he really cooked on that solo. This whole quartet just really really cooks here so well.

He looked more pissed about the mic, but how amazing it to keep the composure and not lose a beat in time or phrasing as your microphone is falling off. Pretty impressive.
