Hahaha! You're right. The only two straight actors playing a gay couple in the show are Thea and Michelle. Randy, Bob Gant and Peter Paige are gay, their partners in the show are straight. Maybe the only straight men playing a gay couple were Michael and Dr. David in Season 1. :)

wow i'd never realized that. now that i think about it though, the gay-straight couples all seem way more natural and have better chemistry than the 2 straight-straight couples, at least in my opinion. aside from the fact that i didn't like dr david much, i always thought the mikey/david scenes were a bit awkward. but then once robert/ben came along, hal seemed much more comfortable in sex scenes.

That's it! I couldn't put that in better words. That's amazing. I wonder if the producers asked the actors about their sex orientation before they hired them. But, except for Mel/Lindz (in my opinion) and Michael/David, all couples looked very comfortable in their roles. :)

thanks :) i dunno if they actually asked the actors about it. but i was watching the reunion lunch video the other day and in it hal talked about how he and the guy who played david were both a bit nervous and uncomfortable. and it shows. thea and michelle have said it was a bit weird for them at first too. so i think it's more that if at least one of them actually knows what it's like, they're more comfortable and therefore put the other person more at ease about it, and there's more chemistry

I agree. I think it's easier for the actors to talk about the sex scenes now, several years after the show is over. It was a challenge for everybody, but if you ask me, Gale and Randy were the ones who best performed sex scenes in the show. :)
