In wikipedia is stated that had the later tie-break rule been in place, France would have been the overall winner of 1969. I used to like more "Vivo Kandando", but this song has grown on me through the years. I love also the recorded version, where the music arrangement is more subtle and the focus is on her voice. I love you Frida, RIP.

well according to the tie-breaker rule that was introduced after 1969 (the act with the highest vote mentions) it would have looked like this: 1. Netherlands (1x 6 votes) 2. UK (1x 5 votes) 3. France (2x 4 votes) 4. Spain (3x 3 votes) with the latest rule (the act that received points from most countries) results would have looked this way: 1. France (9 countries but higher vote mentions) 2. Spain (9 countries) 3. Netherlands (8) 4. UK (8)

One of only two Winners who've passed away during the last 53 years. One of the most dramatic moments from ESC - also making history when four countries won in a four-way tie! With a performance like this, how can anyone condemn or criticise the Contest? Still the greatest Show on earth; no violence, no thuggery, and no aggression. Perhaps those that dislike and ridicule it tells us more about them than it does about the Show!?

Yes! That's the word I was looking for 'melancholic' - in a very beautifully sad way. I remember when I acquired the record copy of this many years after it won - I played it to death... Try listening to this in the dead of night with headphones - this really gets to you and gives you goosebumps when you think this went out right across Europe that night all those years ago...

I know the feeling, used to listen to it in very late hours. Such a lovely way of describing growing up. I believe the 1973 winner had also the same subject. RIP Frida. Who is the other winner that passed out?
