I'm sorry but this doesn't come close to the REM version. In fact, it is a very weak cover - which is not what I expected. I know he has a lot of respect for REM and this song but he has not covered this well at all. Bad song choice really, very difficult to cover a song with so much feeling and emotion, and there are few songs that match the feeling and emotion of Country Feedback, especially when REM play it live.

I said it was superfluous because it was subjective, bro. You say it has more feeling and emotion, but that's an opinion. He obviously doesn't agree with your evaluation, and therefore just said "its better". because all he could say besides that is "no, this has more emotion in my opinion." That's what i'm getting at- you can give a subjective reason, but that doesn't make your claim any more substantial in the eyes of others.

Even so he has still not given a reason for this version being better than the original! He has merely disagreed with what I've said. If you were to take the view that he meant that this version has more emotion, that is just speculation as he has not said that is what he thinks. He's simply said "it's better" and is most likely to have a different reason for thinking that.

the first time i heard john sing i didnt like his voice but after listening to more of his songs it really stuck with me and i have loved his music ever since so im not bashing you but i doubt that u watched the whole video before u said REMs version has more feeling because i find it hard to believe that anyone can put more feeling into a song than what john does on alot of his songs and i mean damn just listen to his voice he gets so into it and just pours emotion out
