GTA IV will do more than freeze your system, it will fuck it up completely and bring about the fatal deadly error 80010514, i'm waiting on a replacement ps3 because of this at the minute. Wouldn't advise anyone to play GTA IV on the ps3 until this is resolved.

hey all ps3 players^^ you must just the ethernet connecting in the xmb (ps3 main menu) turn off. and it hasnt any freezings in gta 4 believe me.

I don't understand what the problem is, i bought gta 4 and i poped it in and it updated a bit and then bam it's on, i'm playing the game, no lagging no freezing just the game and me playing it. Nothing happened, i have a 80 gb ps3 i believe. So maybe it freezes because there is a big update for the ps3 and a lot of memory to be installed for gta 4 (a few gigs) so it probally works up the hardrive and it frezzes. But honsetly i've had no problems since i bought it and poped it in to play.

My GTA IV never froze in my 60gb PlayStation 3! I'm very lucky! And I didn't need to do anything, like turning off the Internet! =] I just installed the game and everything is going ok!
