Okay, obviously this is "Jet Set (Sigh)", not "R & R Crazies" (or "Rock and Roll Crazies").
Joe Walsh based his "Rocky Mountain Way" on this song, and Stephen Stills later performed a medley of both songs.

If you've never heard Stephen Stills & Manassas double LP, you owe it to yourself to give a listen. After 33 years, I've never grown tired of listening to it. There is also a double live CD of Manassas in Europe just before they released the album which features the same songs performed live plus other classics like Change Partners, Rock n Roll Woman and Go Back Home. Awesome.

Indeed. There's also a very nice (trade free guys) recording of Manassas in Amsterdam going round. Marc Ford seemed very pleased when he got it at his concert lately ... :-)

Probably one of the best LIVE bands of the early 1970's for this genre of music. Souther-Hillman & Furay used Al Perkins and keyboardist Paul Harris after Stills disbanded Manassas
after "Down The Road". The Amsterdam recording is a nice
souvenir of what they were capable of performing in concert.

Are there any videos out there of S-H-F? Both bands weren't together for long but they sure put out some fantastic stuff!

One of the best guitarists I've ever heard in my life actually. He possessed skill rather than Jimi's pedals. Beats him by long shot.

I can't believe this footage exists! I saw Manassas in 1972 and they were amazing! One of the greatest concerts I have ever seen! A 3 or 4 hour epic show is what they used to perform in the short time they were together. Thanks!

I too saw them when they came to Fresno, CA, and you're defintely right: they gave well over a three hour concert.
My money is on Stills as one of the most talented guitarists (and he played the White Falcon like no other).

"no thanks" for your dumb comment.
if stills had only written "for what it's worth" he would still be remembered for having written one of rock's great songs.

never complain, never explain-but I will,-I've seen Stephen seven times over the years, the 1st Manassas album is truly one of a kind, not a bad track on it. Chris Hillman has been an inspirational rock wherever he's been. His 1st solo album is an all-time favorite. Just purchased his "Let It Roll" CD, where he bribed an engineer to just roll the tape after a Judy Collins session....We are not helpless, just occasionally misunderstood...yeah, not TOO damn good.

You've got to be kidding me. Stills is an amazing guitarist with lots of skill and one of the best, but don't you dare put down Jimi. Stephen Stills loved Hendrix and they were good friends. Jimi even tried to get Stills as bass player when he was forming the Experience. Stills actually experimented with his guitar to make himself sound more like Jimi. If you prefer Stills that's fine, but don't say he "beats him by a long shot", that's just ignorant of Stephen Stills. I love them both.

Well, I have to post this because I have been discussing this with one of my guitar buddies since the last (2) Clapton Crossroads events; Where's Stephan been? I know that he has been sick this last year...but, somehow, someway he should have been at the Texas Crossroads in 2003!

I agree about Crossroads. There should have been room for one more!

Interesting video. Thank you for posting this! I was a BIG fan of them then and still am! I got the dbl Manassas LP for Xmas 1973 from my lovely girlfriend. I'll never forget those times.
I think Stills is one of the guitar greats. Always did, always will.. Long live SS. I wish Stephen a fast and full recovery.
