This is a biography of the Dalai Lama and his life, featuring interviews with many associates, friends and relatives of the Dalai Lama as well as the Dalai Lama's press secretary. Shot at the Dalai Lama's residence in Dharamsala India.

I'm sorry but you are mistaken. The Dalai lamas family had many serfs under their control. His family was not poor by any means. His two older brothers worked with the CIA too train Tibetan insurgents to fight the Chinese. He's whole family were very influential Tibetans before he became the high Lama. He was not a simple peasant. His family were more like plantation owners.

To paszompa: Excuse ME, do you know that after he was made the 14th DL, he became the head of slave owner due to the slave system at that time during the region? There are numerous evidences to back my points. It's so obvious that you get all your information on DL and Tibet from either DL's government-in-excil or from mainstream west media. was tibet backward and feudal society during his holiness? yes it was! every society has problems, we are no exception. i wouldn't go into explaining why his holiness isn't to be blamed for that.
The point here is, who are you to decide wats good or bad for tibet? its our country and if his holiness was so bad all the tibetans would hate him but i don even have to say how much his holiness is revered.

His Holiness, The Dalai Lama has always said he is just a simple monk and that Buddhism is basically just as simple as having a good heart. I pray that someday soon everyone wakes up with a good heart. Including those running the Chinese government. Without love we have nothing.
