For the most part he did. He later switched back to a 14" on the Stainless kit. There are pictures to prove this. John used pretty much whatever he wanted to use.

This guy is so happy playing those drums and hes so intense like he forcing to try to show emotion when he plays. He should have drank a few and played them, just like Bonham.

Wow...this guy is a good drummer. Bonham was heavier-hitting and more relaxed in his demeanor, but this guy is very good.

He didn't use a coated ambassador on the bottome of the snare. Snare heads HAVE to be clear, because coated heads give no snare sound at all. Just like to point that out. Bonham used either the ambassador snare side head with gretsch 42 strand snare wires. The trick is in the big snares and the tuning!!!

Bonham didnt use the consolette mount from ludwig he used the Rogers Swiv-o-Matic rail mount.

I know what you mean, a nice sleek looking Rail arm and thin cymbal stands / old hardware, then a modern thick Tom arm... just looks odd.

Ah yeah, I think i read that from somewhere aswell, it certainly rings a bell, but i'd just like a rail mount for when i eventually but a ludwig maple kit, to match the ride shell mount and match the vintage look.
