Finally, here's a quick tutorial on how you can mix your own homemade mixing medium! It's quick and easy. The challenge is finding glycerin, but its out there. THERE'S NO alternative to Glycerin, glycerin is glycerin! And no alternative to Water, water is water! LOL Enjoy! Hope this helps save some mulah!

Its a translucent liquid that u can mix with pigment or eyeshadows to make your own color eyeliner.

in the video you say that the shelf life of the mixing meduim will change when you additives. what do you mean? the glycerin and water together will stay good for about a month right?

no, with just glycerine mixed with water, you will notice that MOLD will form after 2 weeks, so thats why I advise to make small batches and discard after 2 weeks. If you add preservatives (like MAC have in theirs) then they will obviously last way longer.

if you have places that makes CAKES or stores that has baking section, you will find glycerin. Its the key ingredient in making Cake Icing.

no, it doesnt affect that - what makes your liner waterproof is the WAX in it, glycerin doesnt break down the wax.

Now tell me something: how do you manage to put on the eyelash (not liquid eyelash, but that one kind of crayon) over the shadow on your eye, with mixing medium bellow? Today I tried and it got so hard to rub on because of the coating of shadow... And I always add the crayon first and then the shadow because of this - it's always hard to rub over the shadow. I didn't do this today cuz I thought putting mixing medium after the crayon would ruin the line.
Please, tell me how do you do that.

Thanks for doing this video Koren! The makeup school I am going to gave me a list of supplies to buy and one of them is glycerin. :) Now I know why I need to buy it. I bought mine at Nigel's Beauty Emporium in North Hollywood. Its a new beauty supply store. They are much cheaper than cinema secrets and Naimie's. Students also get a 20% discount.
