In 1974 JB was dead set against drug use. He would fine or fire band members if he caught them gettin high. JB didn't start using until the 80's. Shame! It compromised him greatly as a performer. He never was the same since then. He lost his sharpness and never completelt got it back.

That's just how it was back then...ADRENALINE! The only reason people now are used to hearing things live at the same tempo as the original recording is because so many acts use the same DAT or "click" track they had in the studio. Back in the day, though, it was all HUMAN...and funkier because of it.
