So the wife shows me an episode of Oprah with Dr. Oz of the You series of health books. He's showing this thing called a neti pot. It's a watering can for the nose. The thing is put into one nostril and warm salt water is poured through the nostrils cleaning out the sinuses. My first attempt at video with this new camera sucked. Apparently my video software won't edit 16:9 video.

I suppose you could use normal salt, but I've alsot heard of people using kosher or sea salt for this. If you don't get the nasaline salt, go for thos alternatives over regular salt.

The trick is to use warm water. It should probably be pre-boiled rather than from the sink (I keep a pitcher of it handy for my Sinus Rinse).

This thing has worked wonders for me. I used to get sinus infections quite frequently, but since I started using the pot, I haven't had one. I also saw a significant decrease in my allergies and sinus headaches as well. I use it once a day. LOVE IT.

I purchased a neti pot, neilmed, nasaflo, this oen comes wiht salt packages, and has full instructions also tells oyu abotu the warnings such as the water much be luke warm, if its too hot or cold it will burn like your head is on fire. and also warns you abouth cuations. but for someone who has sinus problems my whole life I would say this is the BEST product on the market. I used it for the first time today and i love it.

I use a SinuPulse Elite Nasal Irrigation System far more effective and easier to use.

A more effective method is to use a rubber bulbed baby snot sucker from the pharmacy. Mix a saline solution and add a pinch of Cow brand baking soda to take the sting out of the salt. Suck the solution into the bulb, expel the air and completely fill the bulb. Plug one nostril, squirt the solution in the other nostril while inhaling lightly. You have achieved a perfect balance when some of the solution goes down your throat. This irrigates more of the sinus cavity than does the neti pot .

I'm having a hard time hearing the instructions over the music as well. If the guy has to use music with his vid, I kinda wish he had chosen an instrumental track and mixed it lower than the track with his voice on it. Much more effective...
