"Strong persuasion" ... ( 1 month ago by ShamefulProductions)
"Strong persuasion"? Any time you point an MP5 or an M4 in someone's face and order them to get outside, that's fucking force.
You can't disguise what you're doing by changing the name.
Those guardsmen ... ( 1 month ago by adbirds)
Those guardsmen were carrying out an ILLEGAL order. WHO gave it? That idiot police chief? They should have refused under the UCMJ, and reported their commanders to the Inspector General. Better order: "Shoot the looters and leave the rest alone".
More proof that the ... ( 1 month ago by dude58677)
More proof that the National Guard is NOT the militia, in fact they were disarming the militia.

I was a Marine, ... ( 1 month ago by jackbelias)
I was a Marine, joining the NG now and I must say I would refuse such an unlawful order. "were gonna take all of the guns", but all persons left in their homes? What kind of soviet socialist BS was that? It had nothing to do with crime control or public safety, just a soviet socialists way of disarming the people to make way for "progressive change". Anyone who followed that order should hang from the gallows or at least get life in prison with a dishonorable discharge.

"Thank God for DC vs Heller! These days are over!"
Not really. DC vs Heller was a big win for the constitution, but the modern way is to sign binding international treaties that are immune to our supreme court. Obama and Juan Mclame both want to sign agreements with IANSA that will outlaw even the ownership of a slingshot. The days of forced total
disarmament are not over. By the way most of us military enlistees take our sworn oath to the constitution seriously.
Treaties are not ... ( 1 month ago by dude58677)
Treaties are not immune from the Constitution and can still be contested in the Supreme Court. It is also not feasible for anyone to confiscate 200 million guns even if they wanted to. That would clerly lead to a revolution.

But,insane king Nagin.Ordering cops to move everyone out so he can re-build "Chocolate city" Coward's cops that run off & loot. Take our guns as looters rape & kill. Amen Jack Semper Fi ... ( 3 weeks ago by Cryptologist101)
Amen Jack Semper Fi, you're under no obligation to follow an illegal order you take an oath to the Constitution not some bullshit politician. I think everyone knows what political party dominates in New Orleans and the history of these people regarding citizens right to bear arms when these people are clearly not criminals but they were treated as such by little Hitler wannabes wearing a uniform more carrying a badge.
Did they really ... ( 3 weeks ago by Cryptologist101)
Did they really kill people's pets?
In a time of ... ( 3 weeks ago by kostarae)
In a time of tragedy is the most vital time to be armed. (riots, murder, chaos, anarchy) This was a complete and disgusting violation of our rights as citizens of the United States. Breaking into peoples homes and taking their property (the only property protected by the bill of rights). These officers were violating the law and constitution and should be brought to justice for their violations.
the government used ... ( 2 weeks ago by Mrfunkmon)
the government used the military against its own people and they dont even care. Everyones rights are long gone.
Either give over your guns or die like a patriot. Its what AMERICA was founded on.
Not using force? ... ( 1 week ago by bktspinner)
Not using force? They had guns drawn! Also, whatever happened to separation of church and state? They took control of a church! They tried to get a hold of the pastor for permission? Come on he had to leave, where were they going to contact him at? The more I see this disgusting dung the more outraged I become. The regime of the Antichrist is already in action, people get yourselves ready, Jesus is Coming back!
Everyone condemning ... ( 1 week ago by jlevy21)
Everyone condemning this is misinformed. First, the liberal media created this story for an attack on our military. This is the kind of stuff that is "news worthy."
The same people that get angry about the National Guard doing something for the better of the community are the same ones that critisize the Guard for not doing enough when something needs to be done.
violating the ... ( 1 week ago by wonderfunk)
violating the Constitution is "something for the better of the community?" The soldiers' duty is to follow orders - though they also have a duty to ignore orders that violate their oath to defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic. If anyone gives an order that violates the Constitution that order should be disobeyed.
How was the ... ( 1 week ago by HeelToeSTi)
How was the violation of basic human rights to self defense during a time of chaos really bettering the community? It is a violation of law and rights and has been deemed as much by multiple legislatures. This was a failure by the authorities who obeyed an illegal order. This wasn't a time to take away guns. The police didn't have control of the streets at night, but they were more than willing to take guns away from people who'd give them up. You'd want a gun if the police had no control too.

since when were liberals pro-gun? you brainwashed fool. simply criticizing the army does not make you a liberal. i suppose russian dissidents who criticized the red army during the soviet period were 'communists' by that logic?

Intentional levee break to allow chaos to ensue? And the arrival of jackbooted thugs to disarm law abiding citizens? Is it plausable? Yes it is!
