I was a Marine, joining the NG now and I must say I would refuse such an unlawful order. "were gonna take all of the guns", but all persons left in their homes? Obama and Juan Mclame both want to sign agreements with IANSA that will outlaw even the ownership of a slingshot. The days of forced total disarmament are not over. By the way most of us military enlistees take our sworn oath to the constitution seriously.

Treaties are not immune from the Constitution and can still be contested in the Supreme Court. It is also not feasible for anyone to confiscate 200 million guns even if they wanted to. That would clerly lead to a revolution.

The soldiers' duty is to follow orders - though they also have a duty to ignore orders that violate their oath to defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic. If anyone gives an order that violates the Constitution that order should be disobeyed.

How was the violation of basic human rights to self defense during a time of chaos really bettering the community? It is a violation of law and rights and has been deemed as much by multiple legislatures. This was a failure by the authorities who obeyed an illegal order. This wasn't a time to take away guns. The police didn't have control of the streets at night, but they were more than willing to take guns away from people who'd give them up. You'd want a gun if the police had no control too.
