You can thank oil and greed for all of this. The market wanted cheap energy and cheap energy we got. With any luck, Peak Oil, will begin to descend society into a collapse, which may just save the planet in time. I fail to understand how raising the temperature by 4 degrees would melt ice in Antarctica and other places since it is usually below 0 there so, wouldn't everything sill be frozen? I'm sure there would be effects but the end of civilization? Come on.
