But what about the 1971 Cadillac Eldorado.
Didn't it have somewhere around 300 horsepower and the outstanding amount of torque that the huge 500ci engine made? There was a reason Cadillac put the 8.2 Litre badge on thos cars. And it wasn't because it was shiny.

71/72 saw the EPA regs, and a change in the way the horsepower was quoted. Lower compression motors for unleaded was part of it, but a switch to quoting HP with the engine with ALL its accessories attached (as opposed to the bare-bones engine itself), made the figures look even worse.

My mom had a friend ...( 6 months ago by catlovermarty)
My mom had a friend who owned a '71 Cadillac Calais Coupe back in the day. It was the "cheap" Caddy. No vinyl roof, no hood ornament, no lower body chrome. It was white with a handsome blue brocade cloth interior The only Caddy back then that didn't look like an over-chromed, rolling whorehouse. Also the same year you couldn't tell the front of a Chevy Impala from a Coupe de Ville. In '72, the Chevy front was changed because of it.

My grandmother used to have a 1972 4-door Fleetwood Brougham and man that thing was huge, sadly she listen to her husband that said that she can sell it which she wish she'd never did and i do too. Plus, my great great grandfather used to own a 77 Lincoln Town car. Man i wish the Lincoln and Cadillac go back to makin these cars cause the cars today that they sell r not real, but i still do like New Lincoln Town Cars and the back of it looks similar to the Continentals.

Cars nowadays all look alike. You can hardly tell them apart unless you look for the name.
It gets pretty bad when you can't tell the difference between a Lincoln and a Honda.

In 1975 I rode in a 74 or 75 Fleetwood that had the leather interior. It was a heavy leather like that found on the finest furniture. Its the kind of leather that would last unlike a lot of the cheap leathers you see today. It was the most elegant car I rode in, it belonged to a friend's parents who always bought new GM cars and had owned all the GM makes over the years except Pontiac.

Like the Hyundai Genesis and the Benz S Class both look alike. The only difference, the Hyundai is a much smaller version.

My grandparents were Cadillac owners since as far back as I could remember. Nothing compares to the ride of a big ole Cadillac cruising down the freeway. Quiet and plush. It seems that today, technology is mistaken for luxury. Sure, you can have a car today with hundreds of electronic features but you still feel every crack and bump in the road. Give me a heavy Caddy!

Too right they don't. People say the CTS is the new "Real" Cadillac but it is just a modern remake of the Cimmaron, we need things like the 70s luxo boats!

I like the CTS I really do but it should be 19 feet. Long and it should have no feel in the steering.
Didn't it have somewhere around 300 horsepower and the outstanding amount of torque that the huge 500ci engine made? There was a reason Cadillac put the 8.2 Litre badge on thos cars. And it wasn't because it was shiny.
