Reviewing after all ...( 3 months ago by abelseeman)
Reviewing after all these decades, this group was awesome with every member giving 100% throughout. No prissy "lead" singer - how many manufactured groups would have pushed Dave Clark himself with his looks up as some kind of anondyne "front man," but no, total instrumental input from all members, great songs and boy, with their sheer spirit they made a truly great sound.

Why post a comment if you don't know what you're talking about ? I saw them - LIVE !!

spoken like true fans and not knowledgeable music people. That's okay too, their tunes were worthy of Hall of Fame, their performances were canned!
Katietoo, sounds ...( 2 months ago by drysdale65)
Katietoo, sounds like great memories. Wish I was there! Too young at the time (and in the wrong country):-). The British acts that came the US in the 60s had such and impact on those of us coming to age at that time. My 30+yrs in the music/entertainment biz are directly due to the BI. When I visit the UK I promise to buy a round AND pay for trainfare in return for a few stories from "the day"...Cheers

WileERobby, presume you are adding a remark to another's previous comment and not mine - the Dave Clark Five I saw at the Tottenham Royal on a Saturday night circa 1963 were certainly all alive :-) Whether they were using sounds tapes - don't know - the majority of us were just enjoying listening and dancing to the new and vibrant sounds, with only a glance now and again towards the stage - we just knew we loved the music and being part of the buzz.
drysdale65 Great ...( 2 months ago by Katietoo)
drysdale65 Great days, great memories but I still retained my strong allegiance to rockabilly, cajun, blues and country. Took me another 30+ yrs to get to the Grand Ol' Opry, Memphis and Nashville. Don't know what sounds you are into now - I'm raving about the latest CDs of Dion, Andy Fairweather-Low and Bruce Springsteen.
But be careful what you promise - you could just end up in the UK with an aged liability on your hands if you leave it too long :-) Cheers!

Yes, I was responding as a "not knowledgable music person"... I saw them live, STA9NNE, did you ??
WileERobby, I saw ...( 2 months ago by Katietoo)
WileERobby, I saw them live also and never once thought they might be using a tape. To me, the music was centralised around Dave and his drumming, the energetic raw beat was 'all', and, imo, we were not looking for perfection in this new sound, so we certainly did not need flawless taped versions to be played. Ask anyone of those girls seen flocking around the front of the Royal stage -I'm sure they would agree with me :-)

the crash cymbal sounds but Dave didn't hit it. LOL

I remember people arguing ,that they were better than the Beatles, but time has changed that somewhat.lol I think the Small Faces and the Animals got left out of their place in music history too.
