True, but a 24 inch monitor is a little slower than say a 22" or 19" To get speeds of under 5 it cost a fair bit more.

great review, as usual, but you could review something thats not great, not kickass, just bad.
there are rubbish electronics on the market :) cause everything seems amazing on your reviews... even the radeon 2900xt was kickass, with all its problems like overheating and rendering stuff incorrectly in some games.

Without a height adjustment this thing is useless. Please specify the panel type in your reviews as it can make a big difference on the resulting image (PVA, IPS, MVA, TN etc.) 24" is a respectable size but nothing compared to the utility of a 30".

I bought one on sale ($299) but would have paid $399 anyway. The monitor uses a M-PVA panel and provides a really crisp picture. I'm impressed. And it is a full 8-bit display, I couldn't see any dithering in testing. It has no adjustable stand, but the monitor is so large, an adjustable stand seemed superfluous. It sits perfectly. At 6ms response time, I've had no qualms with games. Definitely a good bargain.

This is a great monitor, I got one at officemax for $299. It uses the same P-MVA panel as the LG 246wp and the BenQ 24". What's good about this is that soyo didn't add all these other crap electronics to get an extra 1% or 2% color gamut, so it has 0 input lag and ghosting like all the other 24 inchers. I tested this next to the LG 246wp-bn and the 2407wfp, it literally destroys them in response time.

ahaha, you showed the Sony trinitron G400 at 1:20!!! great monitor! i still use it. wouldn't trade it for a dumb LCD that can only display one resolution and terrible viewing angles and ghosting.

I bought a second one today. Officemax loves selling these at $299. To respond to wattaaa, I wish they would have done more to get that extra 1~2%, but all things considered,it's a worthy tradeoff and once calibrated (Spyder2), these monitors are competent for photo editing. If people had the money, I'd still spend it, but these Soyos have no real downsides at all. And given one comparable Benq is twice as much, dual monitor capability really adds a punch.

hmmm... I have a problem. I upgraded from a 17" non lcd monitor to a 19" SOYO DYLM1986 and now I cant play bf2, and joint operations wont accept a higher res that 1280x768. I'm using a VGA cable because it didnt come with the DVI one, would that be the reason of the problem??? or it just sucks....
