That was a good call by Ivey, not the best call ever or anything. Dags doubled up on the next hand, donk call by the amateur, just Ks and a 10 kicker and the nut flush draw with 1 card to come, horrible call for that much money.

here is why that was a good call.
1) there was no flush
2) A stright but who plays 10,J When Ivey raised pre-flop
3) the only pairs that could beat him were 10,J,Q,K,A and if the guy had any of those he probly would have re-raised Ivey at least once
4) there was a slim chance that DAgostino had a set becasue once again he would have raised Ivey instead of flat call
5) Ivey checked the river and DAgostino went way over the top which made no sense since he did not raise Ivey once.

So when look at it Phil has a very strong hand good pair with top kicker, and he hd the sense to know that the river bet was a bluff to move ivey off his hand. Poker is all about reads, signals, and knowing when your beat or when your ahead, And Ivey IMO did all of those things and does all of those things time and time gain which is why he is a ledgen in poker.
