The 80s? I think not. You mean the 70s. But jt123 is a shithead for calling them armatures. At this point it's easy to look back at stuff from the 60s and 70s and say "oh that's lame", comparing to today's standards and technology. They were making the history that lead to where we are now. And decades from now, people will look back and say we were lame...

Dude music now a days sucks. There is no talent in it, it is just a bunch of crap. Mostly every band today sucks live because they rely on technology. You know techno. Most singers now can't even sing. Guitarists can't play shit. The bassist only play one or two notes. The drums either aren't enough or way to much. But back when Grand Funk Railroad started there was talent. Notice how they can actually sing and play instruments and all the sounds flow together.

The Todd Rundgren ...( 1 month ago by pegleyjr)
The Todd Rundgren produced studio version of Grand Funk's cover of this tune on SHININ' ON is almost ridiculously heavy, and it pretty much couldn't be duplicated live, but it's still fun pop here. Creatively, Farner and crew were on a roll during this period, and I know they (GFR) often point to disco as a reason they broke up, but gosh, even tho the Zappa LP to me simply doesn't measure up to their last few Capitol LPs, going by a '76 Circus article, Craig Frost seemed hopeful. Darn.

Man, if only this was a fad right now instead of all that talentless shit we have now. Im 13 and tired of all these so-called rock bands and rockstar posers with no talent who just play for money, they never play with soul. While everyone of my friends listen to commercial mainstream pop teenaged fad shit, I listen to good music.
