The main issue is not about imposing English BUT THAT WE HAVE TO, NOW, LEARN SPANISH in order to cater to people who don't even respect our laws? Don't look now, but a survey was taken and get this...PUERTO RICO will vote in the next plebiscite towards become the 51st state. Which means, 4 million SPANISH SPEAKERS (FIRST LANGUAGE) on top of the 42 million we have already. That is too, too, cool. U.S., diverse, and united!

If you have chosen 2 live n this country, I don't care how u pronounce the language as long as u make an attempt 2 learn the lang. over 92% of r citizens speak. It's great to learn other languages but that goes both ways. Couldn't help a man n the Post Office the other day though I tried b/c he didn't speak English. It is not my responsibility 2 learn Russian. He should learn English. We r unable 2 learn the languages of all the nationalities coming 2 this country. A unified lang. UNITES.

All people should learn English! I am of hispanic decent, (and for any racist assholes my parents came here LEGALLY) and they learned English, so why can't new immigrants learn English?
