Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. The whole point of recycling is to take worthless things and make them worth something. This isn't really recycling so much as it is "geek chic". Now, had he not destroyed the good bag, and found the buckles somewhere, like a worn out messenger bag, well it'd be a little different. It's a cool project, though. If you make them with bags from certain stores, you can get a really cool looking bag (Target bags are good for this).
