It was this song ... from a stunning (vocally masterful) album ... and the subsequent recognition followed ... that introduced Nilsson to The Beatles who would declare in a famous 60's press conference that he was their FAVORITE American artist. This song, performed just as great as the studio version, tells a sad tale about loss®ret that Harry used his own life to share. It's very catchy and sweet. A gifted singer-songwriter too often underrated. He played/sang so smoothly here. Impressive!

Too bad he had so many demons, but I have to say may be the most unique artist the 60's every produce. I can honestly say that no other single artist has such me so deeply (except Al Green or maybe Otis Redding). If you are not moved by One, or 1941, or the Moonbeam Song, or Thing About Your Troubles, well your probably already dead!!

This is a geat song. Thanks for introducing me to it.
I've just looked up the original track and I don't like it compared to this version. The simple tempo and guitar is much better here than the orchestrics on the album version.

jkoff I couldn't agree with you more. 'Without you' is sung with so much more feeling than the newer version, but he had a quite amazing voice anyway with The Point album Think about your troubles being one of the highlights along with Me and My Arrow. May his music live on forever
