Still gives me chills to see this piece of classic animation. Unbelievable that fans were able to create such an amazing piece of art all by hand back in the day. We used to show this once a year at our anime club back in the day, and always had a ball trying to identify *all* the cameos (from novels, comics, movies, anime and sentai). And yes, this is considered one of the great moments in otaku culture- hence why it was homaged in Densha Otoko.
