I was cleaning out my garage last week and found this cassete tape. My kids didn't know what to think of it as I played the entire album, all except Eden telling us she wanted us to kiss her .......Some things are better left in the 80's

Interesting theory. ...( 1 week ago by jonathan89765)
Interesting theory. There could be some truth in it. However, I think that it has always been a tough age and the smart one's will distance themselves from all of that. More often than not it's the teens that had "no life" in high school that usually turn out to be the brightest and most sucessful later in life.
All those years ago ...( 1 week ago by clubsport911)
All those years ago...and you know what ? This still sounds knockout to my ears. In the 80's I was in my early 20's and having (as we all were I suspect) some of the best times of our lives.
One play of this and it all comes flooding back

The 80s and ...( 1 week ago by 45000mz)
The 80s and previous years had more class and had better lyrics and sound then today. I think the reason is that the younger bands and groups can't up with anything good anymore no wonder everyone is turning to the older music their is nothing to resort anymore. thank god their is still the older music.
I in no way listen ...( 1 week ago by centralscrutinizer66)
I in no way listen to 80's music exclusively, I run the gamet from ABC to Napalm Death and all stops inbetween..But I gotta say modern music SUCKS, like wake up we're experiencing a musical crisis here and our kids are going to suffer. MTV sheperded in bands like ABC in the 80's then went on to kill everything mainstream, which I've always avoided from the start, but the masses feed on without question. Hold on to those 80's disks because Kansas is goin bye bye.
Yeah, the minority ...( 1 week ago by A550RGY)
Yeah, the minority population of smart and/or sensitive teens, even in this day and age, still refuse to toe the popularity-line and follow their own drummer.
I think the reason they tend to do well later on is because their lack of "popularity" means they tend not to marry right away or be burdened with raising kids early on, thereby giving themselves more freedom to explore life and all of their options.
no you guys are off ...( 1 week ago by cmcent)
no you guys are off, you just don't like rap, as a matter of fact you despise it. I actually listen to it. And the shit did not get on mainstream stations (i.e., Top 40 stations, CHR until the 90s) until the mid 90s. Other than that it was only urban (read:black) stations. NO WAY was America totally into rap in the 80s. That's just inaccurate.
'80s music has ...( 1 week ago by ursa41)
'80s music has definitely left an impeccably outstanding mark in musical entertainment. Today, there is a pathetic lack of creativity in song writing among up and coming young groups. It's all OVER, because unless a new style of REAL song and music arises, miraculously, somewhow..somewhere,those days are gone for sure! So...as someone said below, hang on to those '80s discs!!!!

I don't think ...( 2 days ago by lawbeat3)
I don't think anyone who grew up in the 80's, like myself, is saying that. It did have its pop ORIGINS in the late 70's with Blondie. Then there were a couple in the 80's, but it didn't really get pushed corporately till the 90's. Then, the industry discovered it was far cheaper to use sampling and not hire talent, so it was far easier to and cheaper to market. Couple that with angst, anger, and teens, and you have a million $ market. Real musicians/talent became too costly.
Great song though
