Having a gun pointed at you is not funny, but that doesn't mean a joke about a gun being pointed isn't funny. Actually, I don't think the joke is funny. Quite frankly it's ridiculous, but I don't think this is as malicious as you try to portray it to be. Using the race card as reason for this joke is exactly why Obama may lose. Stop treating him as the "black candidate" and pretend this was said about a white only because otherwise it'll only alienate him more.

You don't know what the meaning of a fallacy is, right? I spoke about the joke being made about Obama. I never said about a Kennedy. Don't pretend I made a blanket statement that applies to all people. If the joke had been done about McCain, I wouldn't think it was a big deal either.

You're argument is ridden with fallacies. How can any one ignore the fact that he is the black candidate. Since you claimed I was using the race card I tried to point out a non black example. . . ipso facto Kennedy. Did I correctly use the word fallacy? (smiling emoticon)

You can't ignore that he's a black candidate, but to suggest this joke is done because he's a black candidate, is a fallacy. That is using the race card. If they would use a stereotype of blacks like saying "look at Obama listening to his rap," you'd have justification to believe this is racially intended, but pointing a gun at a person isn't racial.
Your point about Kennedy was ridiculous because I was speaking specifically about the joke being aimed (no pun intended) at Obama.

Let's get back to basics. Are you not aware that because Obama is black the chance of his being assassinated is increased? Don't forget there are gun toting white Americans that would find the idea of a black president so repugnant that they would stop at nothing to see him dead. It is plain to see that Huckabee's little "joke" reveals his fantasy of an attempt on Obama's life. Why else did that image pop into his head? Since the audience laughed, they too thought it was funny.

Sure, Obama does have an increased chance of being targetted for violence. How high? I don't know, but that's not necessarily what the joke was about or fantasies of. One could argue that someone pulled a gun on Obama at the NRA show because he's strongly for gun regulation. I think this interpretation is much more reasonable than to think Huckabee was being outright racist, especially after being one of the only republicans that has defended Obama in the past.

Once again how many NRA members are black? How many blacks are running for president? It is not like a prominent black man was never shot at. According to you, Huckabee should have made the crack using Michael Moore, who is much better known than Obama for being pro gun regulation. Huckabee is lucky that you are not writing his jokes. Oh god, get over it. Asserting that it was a racial thing doesn't make it a reality. We are in the middle of a campaign season. Why joke about moore? Ridiculous.

I loved Huckabee. He may have not had the greatest understanding on foreign policy, but he knows how to govern, and he is an all around good guy. I got a chance to meet him in Iowa, at the marriot, and he was interesting.
