Absolutely not frantic! Have you ever heard this band play "Shawnee"? That tune is much more up-tempo than this one, and still very controlled! Check out Pete Christlieb on tenor. He's one of the great individual voices on tenor. And Joel DiBartolo on bass! I studied with him as a tenor player at Northern Arizona University(he is still the director of Jazz Studies) and he's an incredible musician! Thanks for the clip!

Gotta play it that fast, or stay home. Doc was in the section in New York during Bobby Darin's recordings of "Mack the Knife" and "Beyond the Sea". The music biz has been good to him and he deserves every AFM and SAG pension check!
