Interesting interpretation. Two incredible female voices. I have no time for people who think "classic" songs can never be touched. The Stones, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, all those guys got their start covering other people's songs. Music is to be sung.

I didn't really think anyone could butcher Gimme Shelter. Hell Keith Urban/Alicia Keys didn't butcher it. But this? Well done on taking all the fire out of the song...I guess.

Why is everyone comparing it to the original? I don't give a damn what the original sounded like, they did a good job on their version. Joss Stone really can't do much wrong anyway... but she could have messed this up. She didn't. Get over the past, it isn't the 80's anymore.

um maybe u havent really listened to the stones version, the female singer is what makes it, her screams have more passion, the mix of female and male singers is often best.

Angelique Kidjo is known around the world, regardless of what a few of us think of her music. I viewed her performance LIVE in Hartford, CT, a few years back, and not a backside remained in their chair. She then brought folks to their feet and still does today. Joss Stone has this youthful flare and sexy, sassy appeal. 80's were great, 90's were terrific too. Bands remake songs all the time. Psstt... it's 2008, adjust.

Why is everyone bashing this version? It's another genre of music - try being less close-minded. Both Angelique and Joss have incredible voices, and it makes for an amazing song.

You're the stupid one, with a name like "Brazilian", one would assume you could comprehend the afropop music and beat. They owned this, completely different from the original but great nonetheless. The message is very much the same and the music video opens your eyes to what is going on in other parts of the world. Between the vocals and the video, they totally understand what they are singing, get your head out of one genre and try to appreciate all.
