One of his friends, I can't remember exactly who, but someone like Cary Grant, said that when you watched Frank sing, you weren't just watching a man sing, you were watching a four minute movie. I may have forgotten exactly WHO said that, but I've never forgotten WHAT he said, because it was right on the button. Find an old film of Sinatra singing, especially this song, and you too will see how true that comment is.

Along the same line. An entertainment critic once wrote, and I am paraphrasing: If you go to see this man do his performance and you walk in hating him, you will be on your feet, wanting more when he is finished. The sad thing is a man with this singing ability and the way he phrased a lyric comes this way only once in a lifetime. He was truly the best. He was bigger than life, a perfectionist, but was always humble about his talent. He made every song his own.
