That I did not know. I thought it was just a rant due to his being tired of Steinbrenner's constant criticism of the team & the circus atmosphere around the Yanks. Either way he let off steam & everything he said was true & right. Being on the Yanks in the years immediately after the 1981 WS loss was not fun for any of the players. Goose left the Yanks after the 83 season and the year of this rant, which was 1982, and 1983, Goose was just counting off the days before he could sign elsewhere.

I remember that like it was yesterday. I was in Jr. High and I remember that The Boss did have a comeback about less quacking. Being a New Yorker, it's even funnier to hear a country Northern boy like Goose spew NY style venom. He actually pronounced th ending "r" sound in "Mother F*&^ers. The correct NY pronunciation is Mutha Fu**az!! But the emotion was true and so is Goose. HOF!!!! RIP Bobby Murcer.
