Granted, the AC Propulsion cost sounds high, but you're happy to pay $50,000 just on petrol over the life of a car (10 yrs) -not including service and repair- by which time the ICE car is usually a smoldering wreck worth maybe 5% it's purchase price basically because an ICE converts 85% of the power it consumes into heat and slowly eats itself alive as you drive it.

I remember thinking, 'man, i'll never afford a flat screen tv/a dvd player/a vcr/a cassette walkman...' plus here in canada the gov'nt likes to give 'rebates' for low energy consumption purchases so you never know, eh?

We're talking about an actual driving car here, not some CGI picture you can put a 'reservation' on.
Brand new cars depreciate 30% by the end of their 1st year, so start with a 2nd hand Scion. You can EASILY offset the purchase price of the conversion by the fact that it's 95% cheaper to run. If you do the average 20,000 miles a year you'll save $6000 a yr just by never going to a fuel pump. Over a 10-15 yrs life of a car that's a $60-90,000 saving and an EV will last ALOT longer than 15 yrs.

Electric cars are usually gas cars that have blown engines. I have seen electric trucks,motor cycles,bicycles, I would love to get the new electric recumbent cycle it is white I have a video in my favorites. The so called poor can afford if you have great credit. I want a dome home but have to save the entire construction cost becasue a bank will not lend they need an example so I will build one then they will have their damm example. I hate it I had to rebuild the trailer $10k pissed away.

I am in Perth. I'm not sure what it has been averaging lately, between AU$1.70 and $1.80 a litre or so.
I do manage to get through a tank per week (an older car that I'm re-doing the ignition on - which will help a little) which means $90 / week
I hope I can afford one soon.
