Yes, SOME horses really enjoy horse-riding, I admit it, some riders are good, some are bad, but just because some horses like a nice quiet ride, doesn't mean they ALL enjoy compeating in shows and stuff.

I am not over the top, horse-riding can be VERY cruel, if your horse is your best-friend and you'll do anything for him, then fine!
But like it or not, many people only use horses as a way to earn money, a status, or a machine.
And many people (especially in the US) send their horse to the slaughter when they get too old.

And each horse has a different personality, many don't like being ridden, horses are wild, and need their freedom, and therefore many hate being ridden, told what to do, and bossed around all day, or be crammed in a tiny stable, let them rome free in a large field with the chance to meet other horses.
Horses are NOT machines, they are living, breathing animals who deserve love and respect.

i treat my horse with love and respect. i know a lot of people only use their horse for money or status, its terrible and i wish horse riding didnt come with that stereotype. my horse is in a field with his friends 24/7 and never comes into a stable unless it's vets orders which will help him anyway. he loves being ridden, he's been off work for 3 weeks and today he got ridden and was SOSOSO happy.

I don't know why someone would think of their horse that way. I just love riding cause its fun, it's a good way to get rid of the stress I feel at times. It's like when I climb on the back of a horse all that stress goes away and I'm at my happiest. :)

Yes, I always think of it! I always make sure it's happy. I'd do anything for it! And if it's feeling alittle under the weather I'd do my best to cheer it up, like giving it it's favorite treats, grooming it, talking to it etc. I'd never force my horse to do something it doesn't want to do.

The horse is aloud to be lazy during riding, it's aloud to walk real slow or trot really fast and it does take breaks imbetween riding. I usually ride the horse for an hour, but it gets breaks from trotting and cantering during that time. Plus I ride it everyday. (Only when it feels like going for a ride of course)
