Steve Varon had a vision of the Dalai Lama carrying the 2008 Olympic Torch in part of its planned route to Beijing. Due to China's political standing with the Dalai Lama, Steve's vision is going to take a lot of work to become a reality. Submitted for the Pangea Day contest.

Although I support Steve and his efforts, which are good, I am writing to dispute his claim that the 1996 torch he owns was used by Ali. It is my understanding Ali's torch used to light the cauldron in Atlanta is in a museum in Georgia or Switzerland. Although Ali autographed the torch that Steve shows, it is not likely the actual torch used July 19, 1996, in Atlanta. Would love to see documentation to prove me wrong, perhaps in follow up video. There are more than 10,000 of those torches, FYI.

Gotcha. Yeah, a couple of the torches on recent eBay sales made similar claim (though autographed by Ali, not "the" torch. But you do own an important piece of history (whether or not it was "the one" it is, after all, still a real Olympic torch! All the best of luck with your efforts.

The ridiculous thing is : The guy who call Dalai Lama keep talking about freedom and humanright and democracy since 1959 afer he run out of Tibet , but before that , when Tibet under his control , 95% of Tibetans were slaves , Dalai Lama was the biggest slaves owner . Oh~~~~,it was so free for him to keep slaves ,he had so "humanright" to run his slavery system . Democracy ? Dalai : What was that ?
