Daft Punk was not the first and won`t be the last band to take over some aspects of Kraftwerk. They copied certain habits and the image of Kraftwerk. But musically they are pretty different. They work like House-DJs - they are sampling stuff. There are even pianos and guitars in Daft Punk`s music!
Tons of bands have taken over things from Kraftwerk: New Order, Depeche Mode, Front 242, Gary Numan, Aphex Twin, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Underworld etc. etc.

i think its not the point of who copied/took smth from kraftwerk...those guys were a new page in history of music and basically they opened a new field/ concept of music...which is currently being elaborated and explored by many others...there are always pioneers...e.g. kraftwerk in music

These fantastic guys played a music of future in a time when the majority of people were stymied at fucking Beatles and other shits. we, people behind the Iron Curtain , were stunned when first listening to Kraftwerk, until the fall of communism we were isolated from this kind of fantastic music, and were fed on a terrible diet of talentless communist shitmusic-bands. Even today , it feels good listening to this song.
