Peter, Paul and Mary performed on April 24, 1971 at a peace march in Washington DC. The anti-war march was to protest the Vietnam War. They sang "Blowing in the Wind" and "Give Peace A Chance".

the left has tried and failed at their utopia everywhere in the world.there is not one "success" that can be pointed at and you can say"yep that's what we should have".More than a "mistake" communism has killed more people than any other political ideology ever in recorded history.

Look at this Beautiful gathering of good people coming together to stand for PEACE!
Could a peaceful gathering of this size happen again today in our Nation's capital, or are too many souls sleeping in apathy ???
Or if a large Peace gathering did happen, would it be marred by storm troopers violating their First Ammendment rights ?

Unfortunately,anti-war demonstrations will not protect us against those who wish to do us harm.If they did,I'd be demonstrating myself.There are many people in this world who actually WANT war because they see a profit in it,not because they themselves have been victimised.Defending ourselves by the use of massive force is an awful option-the price of not doing so may be too high for even the most ardent pacifist.I wish I thought otherwise.

I was there in April 1971 so this brings back many memories. It saddens me that we are in the same type of unnecessary war. A war for profit. Worse yet, for the profit of those who hid from serving in Nam and now are warmongers for $. I wish that the people of this country would awaken from their apathy and do what we did then. The politicians will only work for us if we show them en mass and not let up. That is what a democracy is all about. It is how and why this nation was founded.

Why is music performance no longer taught in public schools, except tokenly? Why do "protesters" today rotely repeat past mantras, instead of thinking for themselves about what is really going on now (e.g. Rove and Bush did not hatch an invasion of Iraq, and Democrats rubberstamp it, for "oil")?
