IMHO, Among rock songs, only Pat Benatar's "Shadows of The Night" is more romantic. Everyone knows Bruce co-wrote the song, but who plays the guitar solo? I say it's Bruce! Compare it with his work on his own track and other classic cuts like "Adam Raised a Cain" and "Candy's Room" It's that Te

This is so much better than the attempt to cover this song by the Pretenders. This has a gutsy raw feel, the Pretenders version is flat.

I have never heard the Pretenders attempt at "Because The Night." Is it possible you mean 10,000 Maniacs' cover? Natalie Merchant is flat (as always) she mangles the lyrics, and the guy playing the piano gets the opening melody wrong. On the plus side, the violin solo is nice, and the song itself is so great even the Maniacs couldn't ruin it.
