You're better off learning hangeul, rather then relying on Romanization. In fact, with Korean it can sometimes be nearly impossible to know the correct pronunciation based on reliance on Romanized Korean alone (I'm currently studying FSI Korean and am having that problem).

The letters of Hangeul are very easy to learn. The cluster forms in which they are written can be a little tricky, but not all that bad.
Most introductory Korean textbooks start off with lessons on Hangeul, which would probably be sufficient. I'd say check your local library's, especially college libraries. Also, there should be plenty of on-line sources as well, which I'm sure would also be sufficient.

I would say that Korean is difficult, but Korean character is pretty easy. lol Korean alpabet, which is hanguel( 한글), is one of the best scientific languages in the world. Origin of hanguel is that King Sejong too much loved people; therefore, he created hanguel. Before hanguel was created, Korean used chinese character, which is too much difficult, so everybody couldn't learn and use easily. I am really p roud of that King Sejong created hanguel becuase he loved people too much. T.T
