hi.. not sure which BW model it is as it was a friend of mines that I borrowed. dark finish...red band...it probaly was 40cm /16 inches...as i have a 14" metloef and an 18' drum as well and size wise it fell between. i borrowed another BW from another friend of well...its on my youtube page somewhere

i really like this also.. i notice you seem to be using what looks like a larger than normal 'chopstick' ? i'm going to try to find something similar and see if my < ultra cheap and not too great sounding bodhran> sounds any better:-)

thanks for the comments. I've been playing for about 5 years. i started with a non tunable drum and the Tommy Hayes and then Stefan Hannigan instructional videos. I then took some lessons at the local school of folk music, then attended a workshop by John Joe Kelly from Flook...which really had the most impact on the style that i use now.

how do you like the brendan white double skin as opposed to a single skin bodhran. i bought a BW double skin for my first bodhran and am eager to expand my collection.

this double skin had been played in. it recorded very well although it didnt have a lot of prescence live. has a mellow thicker sound but has lots of snap. i favor a more tonal approach so prefer the thinner single skins. its all what you want to hear and what you like.
