Hm. I have the feeling that I still miss the key to this song. On one hand we have the Erlk önig, on the other hand the title, the plane and the Dalai Lamas fear of flying. But where is the connection? The usual Erlkönig interpretation doesn't fit anymore with the changes, and I am shure that Till is very aware of it. So he obviously meant to give it a new meaning. There might be somethi ng about the china-tibet conflict, but I can't see it clearly. Any opinions?

hmm...Just a idea from me, I would say that the song is called Dalai Lama because this is a person who could have reach the end of life or breake the never ending cycle of life in the buddhism or hindusim , but he goes by his own choice back to life. And in this song they sing "we have to live until we die", so this could be a connection to the title...

Thats a good idea. There seem to be connections to Buddhism. But on the other hand, this religion does not believe in one single god. So what about the line 'Und zum Herrgott fleht das Kind'
I don't understand who is who here. If I have got an idea about one or two lines, there is always another point against it.

Hmm, I like the 'story' they are telling here.
Father and child in a plane, but it's aboutt o crash, they're 'marching right into destruction'. He sings the people don't belong in the air, and God wants it to crash. Somehow.
I fell in love with rammstein about 9 years ago, this is still one of my favorite songs.
The lyrics are just so deep, awesome, and what more.
