yep, I realized that pretty much right after I uploaded the vid. Thanks catching that. I wish I could tag on the end of the video to correct the mistake.
Not quite. Whilst ... ( 2 months ago by Apoel15)
Not quite. Whilst it looks correct regarding the English perspective in the common language it's "A
υτό είναι το αγόρι μου." "Αυτό είναι το κορίτσι μου." It's like saying: This is my girlfriend/This is my boyfriend. They're both neutral. No sex specification is required. Anyhow, who is your teacher?

Of course. The vids aren't meant to encompass the entire greek language -- just enough to get one started.

leave the woman alone! she knows Greek far better than some of the bimbo girls in the streets of Athens and that comes from an actual Greek person! It's so sweet how you pronounce the words and still sounding very professional. You're a good youtube guide for someone wanting to learn the basics Take care
thanks for the ... ( 2 months ago by creativecrackpot)
thanks for the shout out, vasgeorgiadis. I don't sweat the negative remarks. I'll keep doing my best. The videos are helping me to improve my Greek. I imagine my accent is particularly stiff in these videos. I annunciate much more here than in my everyday life so English speakers will hear it words well.

you're doing absolutely fine! Have moved to Dublin 6 months now and have started to forget my Greek (not many Greeks around). I am now watching your other videos, hey you're really good. Idea: a video on greek food! Miss it!
Ah, I think this is ... ( 2 months ago by creativecrackpot)
Ah, I think this is situational. I remember when I was told this it was if I were across the room from my boyfriend and telling someone he is my boyfriend. In this case it would be
Αυτός είναι το αγόρι μου. If I am next to him and introducing him as my boyfriend it would be Aυτό είναι το αγόρι μου. Sound right?
yup, you got it. ... ( 2 months ago by DonZaloog88)
yup, you got it. nice to know people are actually interested in learning Greek. im Greek myself, and im a fluent speaker, but now that i moved to the U.S. there arent too many Greeks around, so im starting to forget the language a bit.

I am studying koine greek, and it is interesting to note the similarities/differences. It would be helpful if there were someway to actually see the greek letters. Maybe you could just write out phrases on a piece of paper and show them in front of the camera. Anyway, great job. Keep up the "epgov agathov".

ooh, I thought about doing a video on the food. Love some of the Greek dishes that aren't the standard tourist choice (souvlaki). I love Kleftikos! And chickpes soup. I never would have ordered this on my own because I'd never had it cooked so well in the states. I'd like to refocus on simply tips for travelers. Good suggestion. Thanks!

Her accent is a bit strange, but the lesson is great. Anyone who want to learn how to speak Greek should start here.
I see you caught ... ( 2 months ago by PavDaGreek)
I see you caught the boyfriend but not the girlfriend. First you've done a literal translation. As a Greek I'd call her kopela or filenada not koritsi. You can refer to her as auto (thing) as in Auto einai to koritsi mou
Αυτό είναι το κορίτσι μου - auti einia h kopela mou Αυτή είναι η κοπέλα μου - h gomena mou η γκόμενα μου Keep up the good work!
