I am not a conductor. I don't know the first thing about conducting. I learned "conducting" by watching conductors on TV. I conduct only for recreation and amusement !

actually, some good conducting style - unfortunately in some of the wrong places of the piece. A bit out of sync with some of the parts, but some of the sections almost suited the tempo etc...the end was pretty right on, except it looked silly with the quivering hand

People, dude is not pretending to be Karajan, it's just on a lark. I'm a classical musician and I thought it was funny!

a brave undertaking. many of your motions actually look quite authentic. An interesting hobby for a non musician. I imagine you get plenty of excercise doing it too you know...

Too bad you didn't take it up seriously--your gestures are extremely good! In fact much better than some "real" conductors...

Maybe you should become a little more familiar with time signatures, and maybe that would clear up about 60% percent of your "confusing" style.

Why is this on youtube.Surely it is much better to keep this pastime between yourself and the fictional Brahms.

Fantastic! The most realistic things about this are a) sweeping the hair back at 1:00 and not knowing what's going on! Very much like most working conductors! All you have to do is choose whom you blow!

omg. I am only fifteen, and I know how to conduct in 4/4, 3/4, and 2/4, and I am working on 6/6. I am not a prodigy by any means, either. This is just dumb. If you are going to spoof an amazing art, go get some lessons.

Lots of fun to conduct to the stereo, right? I do it all the time. Check out how Carlos Kleiber interprets this movement: type "kleiber brahms 2 last" in the search box.

Haha you're better ... ( 3 weeks ago by ellandelachapelle)
Haha you're better than you think! (you're an actor?) The movements are quite correct (and mostly on the beat) but it's obvious you don't HEAR most of the music! (I mean what's going on in the orchestra.)But that you can always learn! (of course not if you can't READ music.) First lesson (for free): always know (inside your head) what comes AFTER the note the orchestra is just playing! (if you don't, THEY will be leading YOU.)
Haitink and Kleiber ... ( 1 week ago by CarlosFinch)
Haitink and Kleiber take/took the accelerando. Am sure Bernstein did with his usual fast tempi. Can't remember if von Karajan or Leinsdorf did, but that's a generation ago.
