Raastey started out as 8 hours of miscellaneous footage from India. At the time I didn't have any concrete plans about trying to work in film or TV; but we were in India with a small handicam so we took some footage. As one does.
When we got back to the UK I started to get keen on the idea of film-making and flung myself into a small project. I picked a great track from the film 'Taal' and began to fit some of the shots to the music. The theme is loose, but what I hope I've captured is the experience of travelling through
India and some of the characters that you might meet on the way. It's a personal feel of the India that I see when I'm there. The music has a pace and drama to it that drives the film on.
