I think her voice sounded the most beautiful in this song than any other. The song itself is georgeous, and it really evokes a mood of angst, which is kind of unusual with such a lovely arrangement. It will always remind of the first day of 7th grade, sitting on the bus and dreading the start of High School, and it wasn't fun -but that's irrelevant :)

She does not have a tiny range. Ha! I think you're talking about the "size" of her voice (i.e., delicacy of tone), not how low or high she can go which is what the word 'range' refers to. Karen Carpenter is a great comparison. Their voices are sublime, and brimming with emotion. This song would not be the classic it is if she'd hollered and whooped throughout. A good friend and I had the "Diana Ross true talent or not" debate for years until I really listened to her voice. I must admit I was a naysayer-- but have you heard her belt out home? Incredible. I am however amazed by the different characteristics of her voice when she was a Supreme and then after. The sound that she created with the Supremes was totally original and nothing has come close since. When I hear those old songs it makes me wish I could have been alive in that era.
