someone should conduct a worldwide experiment where anyone who volunteers is administered a standard dosage of heroin under hospital supervision. this will prove once and for all whether addiction is a "disease" or not. if ALL of the volunteers are unable to stop doing heroin after that dosage, then it is a disease. if even one volunteer never does heroin again after that, then it is not a disease and is simply a question of will power.
