There will always be a surgical scar but it continues to fade over years as a rule while being placed in the bathing suit line for concealment. This is 6 months after operation. At two years if the patient does not get too much sun exposure at the line it should fade considerably. Patients of color may need further time for fading.

All procedures will leave some scar, but usually fade considerably in time. This is a 6 month result. At two years the scar will further lighten. Patients of color may require more time for fading. The scar is concealed as much as possible in bathing suit line but is a tradeoff for a sleeker tummy line.
