David Horowitz was at Emory University Wednesday night to give a speech as part of Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week sponsored by the Emory Chapter of College Republicans. Unfortunately, a disruptive crowd shut down the event.

Thats really an unfair statement.This event was not shut down by Emory students. The protesters came from the Atlanta community. (Groups like, I kid you not, 'The Communist Youth Brigade') These people do not represent Emory and this incident was later denounced by President Wagner and the school newspaper.

The people who were protesting were not Emory students, and the people who actually protested are looked down upon even by the Muslim Student Association. The fact that you are trying to dish Emory when you actually don't know what you're talking about just shows us that you're an idiot and should just stop talking.

You only see liberals shouting down conservative speakers. You NEVER see conservatives shout down liberal speakers. That's because conservatives aren't always going around making idiots of themselves. That distinction is reserved for stupid liberals.

Two points about that, first it's not true that conservatives don't shout down liberal speakers, Michael moore in Utah, Noam Chomsky was prevented from speaking at west point after being invited to do so, and so on so forth. But It is true that conservative speakers are shouted down more times hen liberal ones. This is probably because the radical conservative movement is far more extreme in what it believes but more importantly what it say

One only has to say the manes of bill o'rielly, pat Robertson, ann coulter, and Michael savage to see this clear illustration. It is al so true that neo Nazi get harassed and mistreated for there beliefs, which I think is wrong, but we can see why they are treated that way. Context is important here. Anyone who would use a term like "islamo-fascist" ought not to be shouted down. He should be laughed out of town. Fascism is the combining of corporate power with government power. Conservatives don't shout down the opposition? Ever watch O'Reilly or Michael Savage? Not only that, but conservatives resort to name-calling and hasty generalizations of all liberals rather than actually debate the issues. I don't applaud this behavior, because a true liberal believes in free speech, but it's hard to hold these kids in contempt for long, considering we've had seven years of "I'm the decider". It's a shame it has to be this way, but it was your administration that made it so.

now I'm as liberal as the next guy, and I think Horowitz is way off on certain points, but you should at least hear what he has to say and challenge him on it during a question and answer period rather than being rude and all. I don't care what neo-cons do, we're the ideology of free speech.
