raising minimum ... ( 1 month ago by stealthswimmer)
raising minimum wage huts lower income people by increasing unemployment. The argument of a "living wage" is a joke. Walmart should be able to pay whatever they want, but people are free to not work there. One major problem is that there are regulations that hurt small businesses and make them wait years before starting. This impedes competition. The regulations around keep competition lower than it should be, with less then ppl could start businesses more easily and provide more competition.
the problem is ... ( 1 month ago by stealthswimmer)
the problem is people are voting for Republicans that are not conservative. They're voting in neo-conservatives who spend liberally and don't stick to the principles they talk about.

Oh please..
It's not POLICY that is going to 'bail us out.' There's no 'bailing out' that needs to happen. A heavy puffing argument by the representative does not beat Greenspan who understands that free market capitalism and freedom to its citizens are what drive economic growth and a high standard of livi
ng for its citizens.
Greenspan works for ... ( 1 month ago by Yourdeadmeat69)
Greenspan works for PIMPCO, a hedge fund, which SHORTS financial institutions. When he bashes the economy, he's working just as hard for them, as he allegedly worked for the FED.
All he had to do, was alert the media that he suspected the mortgage system was rampant with fraud or suspected practices. IGNORE Greenspan, the Fed Chairman is Bernanke.

No. Not all ... ( 4 weeks ago by stealthswimmer)
No. Not all Republicans agree, same as not all Democrats agree. At the national level, many neo-conservatives have hi-jacked the Republican party and are now in support of an interventionist foreign policy. Same goes for Democrats. You think it's any different for them? Hillary was talkin about invading Iran in one of the debates, so it ain't like it's only Republicans doin or talkin about stupid things.

Greenspan answers ... ( 3 weeks ago by inadena)
Greenspan answers the questions like he is the president of US.
The bashing China part falls in Greenspan's trap, because if China is the course of the problem, then the FED is not. the fact is, The FED reserve is making US a poorer country, slowly but steadiy. China has made the progress less conspicuous. At the same time, those who behind Greenspan, would Americans hate the chinese.

Now over a year ... ( 3 weeks ago by AaronCee)
Now over a year later the economy is even worse and it is not getting better anytime soon. Predicted to fall even more 2009.
The answer ... ( 3 weeks ago by AaronCee)
The answer Greenspan gives is not valid as an argument for the stats. rep. Bernhard states. It's not an argument at all. In effect this is Greenspans reply "Poor people from other countries are flocking to take our low paying jobs, americans are losing jobs, investment is lower than ever before, hi-tech industry is flagging out or is being out-competed, , economy unstable.. but it's okey because we are a great country" It is not a valid argument, it's an illogical reply.

Note this is 1 year ago. The 4 trillion dollar dept is now, one year later 9.5 trillion dollars. Unemployment is even higher today one year later.

So all the stats that he rattled off are wrong? Really? Because i'm pretty sure it's only gotten worse since this video. I'm sorry but you are the one that needs to read up on economics...unemployment, inflation, and jobs going from good factory jobs to Wal-Mart is good for the economy? Really?
