At 8pm on the 29 March 2008 millions of people in some of the world's major cities used the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming.

ew ok you dont think global warming exist, but do you still think its ok that "we are polluting and killing our natural resources?" whether global warming exists or not, we still have to change our way of life like bigvoodoo said in the last sentence.

The fact that this video starts by showing a nuclear power plant shows just how stupid these people all are. Anyone who is seriously green believes in nuclear power as a short term solution. As for earth hour it was symbolic but if you dont already know about it then you live in a cave. Theres no lack of spreading the global warming word. Theres a lack of realistic solutions and credible action. BTW the IPCC has stated the earth has been getting colder for the past 10 years.

Really. And what idea might you have? Or is corporate rhetoric all the studying you need? If you actually make an effort to do any research into the topic for yourself, learn a bit about physics and chemistry you're realize that you're so wrong its not even funny. And if you think that the earth can't cool by one degree and be affected by global warming at the same time, than your basic understanding of the topic is clearly less than fundamental.

Just because the earth is cooling doesn't mean that global warming isn't happening. This is probably the greatest misconception of them all. Secondly, to say anything about trends in climate for periods of times shorter than like 100,000 year is basically meaningless. Climate is far too random to be able to extrapolate any sort of pattern unless your talking about 10000 year timescales. And if you think they're doing that for global warming, you're wrong again.

Of course a period of less then 100,000 years is pointless. But I assure you the earth hasent been warming for 100,000 years and if it has it wasnt human causes since definitely wern;t emitting Co2 back in the day. During the 1800s we went through a period called the little iceage when glaciers began to advance again. That was post industrialization.

Geologically CO2 levels are the lowest they've ever been for about 600 million years. And 440 million years ago there was about 10 times as much Co2 in the atmostphere. And while the earth did cool and warm during these periods there is no consistant data to suggest the earth gets hotter as CO2 emmisions go up. Unless you use climate data from the 90's. Most of that data is based on guesses since until the launch of the Aqua sattelite we didnt know how the climate actaully adapted and changed.

Of course we have to change the way we live. But we have to go about it in a reasonable fashion. Look at what happens when people panic about clmate change and don't do the research. You get Biofuels and if you've watched the news lately you'll know that about 100 million people are at risk of entering the greatest famine of the past couple hundred years. People in haiti are eating mud because of our solution to climate change. Take it slow, we have a while now before peak oil. Lets get it right

I don't think that this is really a problem, anyhow...there are known in history of earth many temperature variations (if you are an meorologist and astronomer you should know) and life continued to exist.

Yeah it continue to exist but pollution is still a really big problem whether or not it's causing global warming. Thousands of factories dump gallons of waste into our drinking water. What do you have to say about that? Drink aroooouuuund the pollution bn the water just the clear water? Get real.
