I don't think Sean is trying to be his father at all. I know I've read a lot of comments about him trying to look and speak like John...which makes no sense b/c Sean doesn't speak with an accent and he's going to favor his father. Even when his hair was really short there was no doubt that Sean is John's son...the man had strong genes.
