Please take note that at the beginning of the video, that although Rita calls Tyrone to her, she pulls him away when he tries to hold and to kiss her; However, later on in the scene when she calls him to her, she allows it. Why? Because she knows that his wife is going to be watching, of course!!! (Rita/Dona Sol), you bad girl, you!!!). Also, one can even see that even when her character smiles one can detect just a trace of malice there.

Oh my god, this scene so jaw-dropping, heart-stopping and heart-breaking to watch. I love Linda Darnell. I know if I were a man I would've chosen Linda over Rita just 'cause he was in love with Linda's character, he was "in lust" with Rita's.

As always, Rita is superb in this movie. I think its her best early performance. She is generally given credit as bringing the "Vamp" role from the 20's back into the 40's but updated. After this movie and "Strawberry Blonde", Columbia finally realised they had a top star in their midst and built two vehicles to showcase her talents with Fred Astaire.
